In 2025, my sixtieth year, I made two journeys into Europe — the first to Copenhagen, the second to northern France. Both offered entirely different atmospheres and rhythms, yet each satisfied the same enduring need for travel, observation and quiet exploration.
As always, I photographed the subjects that instinctively draw my attention: architecture, streets, interiors, fragments of daily life and the unnoticed details that quietly define a place. During these journeys a new series also began to emerge — Doors. What started as a passing curiosity slowly became an ongoing study of threshold, surface, colour, texture and symbolism. Some appeared grand and ceremonial, others weathered, anonymous or forgotten, each carrying its own suggestion of history and human presence.
The resulting work is rooted in movement and discovery, shaped by a lifelong fascination with wandering unfamiliar streets with a camera and allowing instinct to guide the eye. These photographs are less about documentation than response — small visual encounters gathered through travel, observation and the simple pleasure of looking closely.
